Keep getting Kicked off FTP server

I am using a wireless connection and trying to upload a website file to my site using a FTP server in FrontPage, Dreamweaver, Xara, CS8 software. however I keep getting dropped.

When ever uploading files to a server or NAS (Network Attached Storage) using a wired connection would be the best source. 1) your moving at a much faster pace 2) when using a wireless connection your sharing that connection with whom ever uses that connection so if you started using it with a excellent connection 54 Mbps and someone joined they would pull part of your connection to access the internet and slow your speeds and possibly slow you down and yes even kick you off the access point by trying to download music pictures, video.
